ProMOS says Q4 output to fall more than forecast

TAIPEI, Dec 9 (Reuters) - ProMOS Technologies Inc (5387.TWO: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz), Taiwan's third-largest DRAM memory chip maker, said on Tuesday its fourth-quarter output would fall more than its previous forecast of a 10-15 percent drop. "Output will decline by more than our previous estimate because PC DRAM prices keep falling," ProMOS Vice President Ben Tseng told Reuters by telephone.

ProMOS, which makes dynamic random access memory (DRAM) chips used mainly in personal computers, said in early October that its fourth-quarter output would be about 10-15 percent lower than the third quarter's. (US$1=T$33.5) (Reporting by Baker Li, Editing by Jonathan Hopfner)
